A Note from Ben and Jerry

It’s Ben! And Jerry — yes, that Ben and Jerry, the ice cream guys!

You may know us for our ice cream, but today we’re here to talk about something else. We’re super excited to endorse Justin for City Council. He’s bold, he’s progressive, and he’s exactly what this district needs.

We’ve been pretty busy over the last few years, working to rebuild our criminal justice system, our ongoing work to stamp Big Money out of politics, fighting against Austin's proposed criminalization of homelessness, to supporting progressive candidates across the country! But we still want to weigh in on this critical local City Council race, because we both know how important it is for building a progressive future in NYC.

When he was National Campaigns Director at MoveOn, we worked with him to bring about progressive change in every corner of the US—and for over a decade, we've collaborated with him in creative and surprising ways to take on Big Money and the terrible Citizens United Supreme Court decision.

Now that he’s running for City Council, we couldn’t be more thrilled with the progressive vision, creative approach, and experience he’s bringing to this district.

He’ll champion transforming how we police, building affordable housing, truly prioritizing our schools, and rebuilding our main streets, while doing it all in a genuinely grassroots approach that puts people first and puts out public funds behind priorities that serve the public good.

Those are all the values that we can get behind—and creating a more just and equitable society from the grassroots up is part of what got us involved in progressive politics in the first place.

We really hope that you’ll join us in supporting Justin. He’s bold, he’s progressive, and he rocks!
